Meet The Team

the exec board.

As the governing body of WIIT 88.9FM, the executive board plays a critical role in ensuring the success of the college radio station. They provide strategic direction and oversee the station’s operations, including budgeting, planning, programming, and marketing.

The board works collaboratively with the station’s staff, volunteers, and campus community to maintain a high level of professionalism, creativity, and engagement. Ultimately, the board’s objective should be to uphold WIIT’s mission of providing a platform for independent voices and alternative music while serving as a valuable resource for the campus and the community.

Cole Kincart

Station Manager

Responsible for general oversight. Directs the station, coordinates large projects, and arranges meetings.

Station Manager

Cole Kincart

He is currently the station manager at WIIT and is a third-year student studying architectural engineering. Raised on Tumblr-era music, Cole is constantly on the lookout for new sounds, collecting new vinyl, and taking every chance he can get to attend a concert. Although Cole won’t admit it, he is a Pitchfork snob, so don’t be surprised if you catch him lurking in the depths of the insufferable online music community. Cole is still haunted by Daft Punk’s breakup, but is still eagerly awaiting the release of RAM Drumless Edition. Responsible for general oversight. If you want to chat about Frank Ocean theories, or are interested in joining the radio, feel free to reach out to him!

Tamar Agam

Asst. Station Manager

Supports the station manager in various operational and administrative tasks. may assume managerial responsibilities

Assistant Station Manager

Tamar Agam

Although she didn’t have the most linear musical journey, Tamar (dream analyzer and tea party host extraordinaire) likes to think of her music taste as “really sick” and “the best ever, actually”. Hand her aux and you’re probably going to hear a selection from a rock off-shoot she could talk about in excruciating detail for hours. From punk to prog, she’s got an affinity for poetry and weird noises in music— you’ll never know whether she’s going to play you something that’ll make you do a little jig, or just straight up freak you out.

Joseph Loriso

Program Director

Responsible for overseeing the content and scheduling of radio shows, as well as coordinating with DJs.

Program Director

Joseph Loriso

While on obnoxiously long runs, Joey finds himself listening hip-hop, jazz, R&B, soul, rock or really anything that hits the right note. Though he’s firmly in the Spotify camp over Apple Music, he’d rather toss a CD into his boombox or fire up his trusty old iPod Nano. When he’s not logging miles, you’ll find him still listening to music in the kitchen, perfecting his Walter White-level red sauce to pair with a fresh batch of pasta.

Amelia Moseman

Events Director

Responsible for coordinating events curated by or sponsored by WIIT, including GBM.

Publicity Director

Amelia Moseman

Amelia hopes to bring her constant pursuit of joy and whimsy to the events director role in her final year at WIIT. She has an affinity for good lyricism, loading her playlists with the likes of adrienne lenker, mj lenderman, kimya dawson, A$AP Rocky, etc in a concious effort to stimulate her rapidly developing frontal lobe. Some people have said she’s the Clairo of IIT, minus the singing and the famous dad, but her reps declined to comment. This summer she broke her first bone (1 down, 205 to go!) but that didn’t stop her from attending Pitchfork (read her review on the blog). She hopes to see you around!

Nicholas Raden

Business Director

Manages station finances and coordinates purchases through Finance Board and SAF.

Business Director

Nicholas Raden

Nicholas is the business director at WIIT and an audiophile in the vain of WAV, AIFF, Lostless and MP3. Entering his second year he is faced with own mortality and makes the most of it by isolating in his room. He is in the field of civil engineering so he likes bridges and stuff. Other than all that he spends the rest of his time talking music, culture, and shit.

Olivia McMath

Publicity Director

Responsible for promoting the radio station, managing social media, and enhancing the station’s public image.

Events Director

Olivia McMath

Olivia has a deep love for cute coffee shops, gourmet cheese, and hyperspecific playlists. From a troubling start in the realm of 2016 internet music she has found herself predictably listening to primarily indie-rock or indie-pop. Her favorite concerts have been Kim Petras and The 1975 which speaks to her ecclectic music taste. She is always down for a bike ride, new music recs, tea with friends, or a long hard conversation about the dying biodiversity of french cheese.

Victoria Aspurez

Publicity Director

Responsible for promoting the radio station, managing social media, and enhancing the station’s public image.

Event’s Director

Victoria Aspurez

Tori is a constant listener of anything in the “girl with guitar” genre and is the proud owner of the only 2023 apple music replay featuring Wham. She loves record collecting, going to coffee shops and over analyzing song lyrics. She will gladly talk (brag) about her many many concert stories and her biggest flaw is that she loves The Smiths.

Lilia Donaldson

Publicity Director

Responsible for promoting the radio station, managing social media, and enhancing the station’s public image.

Asst. Events Director

Lilia Donaldson

From living in a mountain town, Lilia grew up in the outdoors and has a big love for camping and hiking or, any mountain activity, so it only makes sense that she listens to granola girl/country music such as Noah Kahn, the Lumineers, Zach Bryan, and Luke Combs. Although she does love mountain music, Lilia isn’t opposed to listening to Punk Rock, Rap, or pump up music like Beyonce before volleyball matches/practice or even before Chemistry Lab to get herself hyped up.

Sasha Rodriguez

Music Director

Responsible for maintaining relationships with record labels and promoters, and curating automation.

Music Director

Sasha Rodriguez

Sasha Rodriguez is the Music Director at WIIT and a third-year student majoring in Communications. Sasha is passionate about the local punk music scene, but also enjoys exploring new sounds and artists in indie and dream pop music. A shoegaze enthusiast and diehard Mitski listener, Bethany has attended 35 concerts and thrives on attending every possible live performance. With an eclectic taste that spans across many genres, Bethany enjoys exploring record shops or thrift stores across Chicago to hunt for CDs to add to her collection. Her ever-growing number of playlists are a reflection of her diverse musical tastes, showcasing her passion for discovering new sounds and connecting with others through music.

Annika Torbensen

Asst. Music Director

Responsible for maintaining relationships with record labels and promoters, and curating automation.

Asst. Music Director

Annika is a Biochemistry major who loves to listen to a variety of music. Her favorite concert experience was the Wallows 2024 concert in Chicago, and she plans of seeing them again in the future. As an athlete, she has a healthy does of energetic music mixed into her playlists.

Sofia Del Valle Zakhem

Photographer

Capture station events and concerts, collaborating closely with the Publicity and MD tea, to visually document and promote WIIT’s activities.

Photographer

Sofia Del Valle Zakhem

Sofia was born in Caracas, Venezuela. She knows wayy too much about Patti Smith and her poetry. Although you would never guess it, Sofia was part of a grindcore band in highschool- however that’s definitely all in the past. She likes drinking tea, being on aux and sketching. She hates that Pretend by Alex G is not Apple Music and she held Adrianne Lenker’s hand at a Big Thief Concert.

Dustin Thomas

Tech Director

Helps maintains and improves broadcasting equipment, facilities, and also trains new DJs.

Tech Director

Dustin Thomas

Dustin is a third-year computer science major and technical director at WIIT, as well as the host of Mini Margaritaville and Dystopia of Distortion. He likes a little bit of everything, ranging from the chill vibes of Jimmy Buffett and the Eagles to the heavy sounds of Starset, Linkin Park, and Skillet, to the jazzy sounds of Miles Davis and Bruno Pernadas. Alongside WIIT, he’s also involved with Illinois Tech Robotics and photography club. In his free time, Dustin tinkers with programming and is a huge fan of all things science fiction.

Victoria Akirtava

Historian

Responsible for the handling of historical records related to WIIT and contact with Alumni

Historian

Victoria Akirtava

Victoria listens to every music genre like it’s her job, and has a playlist to back that up. She’s always exploring new sounds to force people to listen to when on aux. In her free time she plays drums and stalks people on Airbuds. She has a mild obsession with Elliott Smith and Trader Joe’s juicy mangos.

Malik is a Chicago native that is extremely passionate about the arts of music, photography, film, and gaming. He’s a huge mental health advocate, so make sure to speak your feelings! In his free time he really loves to study old movies and music. You might see him walking around with the exaggerated swagger of a black teen.

Eric Breese

Eric as WIIT’s Advisor. He’s been involved in College Radio since starting at KUSR (now KURE) at Iowa State University in 1985 as the station’s Engineer.
