MaryLeigh Roohan to visit Midday with K this Wednesday at 5:30pm CST on WIIT 88.9FM Chicago streaming live at radio.iit.edu or find us on TuneIn. MaryLeigh Roohan has traveled far and wide to perfect her songwriting abilities. After getting her start at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs, Roohan moved to Scotland for a year and consistently refined her craft and performed in pubs. Since moving back to the states, she has played everywhere from intimate cafes to wild festivals and has had the pleasure to open for acts like Milo Greene, Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds, Sean Rowe, and more. In 2012, the top alt-weekly in New York’s capital region, Metroland, named Roohan “Best Female Singer-Songwriter”.
MaryLeigh Roohan has perfected her alternative Americana style and songwriting over the years. Her songs have connected with listeners on a deep level, and earned her fans throughout the country. Dark, sultry vocals and a blues-infused guitar accompaniment have met the perfect pairing on MaryLeigh’s latest effort. Her new EP Living Alone delves into dark depths and issues that so many have gone through. Her poignant lyrics touch on many topics, and yet breathes fluidly as one cohesive piece. These lyrics aren’t meant to pigeon-hole the songs, but rather connect with each listener in their own personal way. Each person has their story, and while MaryLeigh continues to share hers through her music, she wants others to connect on their own personal level as well. Her new EP Living Alone will be released on September 25th.

We are excited to announce that Chicago House Icon, Alex Peace, of Tru Musica and FADEDMUZIK will be stopping by Midday with K this Wednesday from 4-5pm CST! You can stream us live at radio.iit.edu or find us on TuneIn.
Tru Musica is a subsidiary of the Chicago based label, FADEDMUZIK, which is owned and operated by Alex Peace. What started out as a nightlife concept with no direction, the “Tru” logo began to make it’s mark on t-shirts that were sold online. The support from some high profile DJ’s such as Laidback Luke & Bad Boy Bill, helped increase interest in the DJ community and “Tru” became the inaugural brand to jump start BassRoxx.com, an online shop selling music inspired apparel.
In early 2014, Alex rediscovered his love and appreciation for the foundation of Chicago House Music and this lead to the birth of his alter ego, Martin EZ. In order to get back to his house roots, he realized that we would need to restart his 22+ year career and rebuild from the ground up.
His new mind set and production focuses on the ‘feel” instead of the vanity that has fueled today’s perception of what an electronic artist should appear to be. In 2014, he partnered with Brian Boncher to serve up a steady diet of music on Hatrax Records, Solmatic Records, (2) Ibiza Compilation with Moody Recordings and a feature on the Chicago’s Finest Compilation along some of the most influential House Music artists.
A network of Chicago based DJs and Producers promoting music, performances, podcasts, and interests. * Curated by Brian Boncher, Rees Urban & Martin EZ
RESIDENCIES Martin EZ – Tuesday @ Evil Olive – Wicker Park Alex Peace – Fridays @ Crocodile Lounge – Wicker Park Alex Peace – Saturday @ Five Roses – Rosmeont, IL.
The new single “That Feeling” by Martin EZ & Brian Boncher feat Jason Walker has just been signed to Moody Recordings.
